Seeing double at the new duplex

The new duplex at Oak and Market streets is nearly complete. Crews were putting finishing touches on the frame and roof this morning.

LifeTrail Almost ready

The new LifeTrail System at Pickett's Run Park is nearly complete. I saw Parks Department employees working hard on it this morning, in fact...

'Saturday in the Park'

The Wells County 4-H Park was chock full of classic cars and good times Saturday afternoon for 'Saturday in the Park.'

Hundreds of folks wandered the paths, gazing at muscle cars and antique autos, listening to old time rock'n roll, and raising money for Connor Whitesell.

There were well over 150 participants, plus the musicians, vendors and volunteers.

Thanks to everyone who came, gave a dollar or two (some much, much more and you know who you are) and offered their best-wishes to the Whitesell family.

Section of Arnold Street closed

Mayor Ted Ellis announced this morning that the 200 block of East Arnold Street in Bluffton will be closed for repairs on Tuesday and Wednesday.

What you missed

In case you missed it, local musician Tom Cushman playing his guitar at the Brew Ha! on Friday night.

Sports Editor Paul Beitler was there and shot this great video. Check it out!

NHS renovation still under consideration

The Steering Committee tasked with guiding the school's potential renovation of Norwell High School has managed to get the price tag down to a tad under $14 million.
Still little headway has been made in terms of what, if any, project might be feasible; some folks say no increase in property taxes, however slight, will be tolerated.
Others say the community would be foolish not to strike while the iron is hot and construction costs are historically low.

For now buckets will continue to be used to catch the leaks when it rains.

Relaxing by the pool

It might have been weather for ducks outside, but the interior at Outdoor Concepts (formerly Steve's Landscaping) was the perfect setting as Wells County Chamber of Commerce members gathered for the monthly "Business After Hours" Thursday evening. The staff at Outdoor Concepts hosted a Springtime Cookout, with brats and burgers as part of the celebrations at their new premises just north of Lowe's. (Photo by Frank Shanly)
