OFD HazMat Training Exercise

Ossian Fire Department led a Hazardous Materials training exercise at the Ossian industrial Park last weekend.

This was the first such training exercise in Wells County and involved Wells County Sheriff's Department, Wells County EMS, Ossian Police Department, Wells County EMA and Ossian firefighters.
OFD Chief Ed Connett said the training session was intended to help firefighters prepare for emergency situations involving hazardous materials.

"We do have these types of chemicals being transported all through the county so it's best for firefighters to practice dealing with it now because they could encounter just this kind of situation one day," Connett said.
