Tim Ehlerding, the county's economic development director, told Ossian Town Council members that the nearby industrial park could become the top location for business in the county.
And to help, he and others explained how they could transform the area into a TIF, which essentially allows an appointed body
to funnel a concentrated dose of new property tax revenue from new or
expanding businesses within that district to specific projects.
Ehlerding also advocated for the district during a recent Northern Wells school board meeting, presenting the following illustration to depict how the money flows.
