Ossian Elementary will implement a web-based program next school year to help students with ADHD and similar issues, teacher Patty Atkins announced at the Northern Wells school board meeting Tuesday.
The ACTIVATE program, though, will target the neurological issues beneath the symptoms “to achieve a lifelong improvement,” Atkins wrote in a release describing the program.
“It’s really cutting edge,” she said. “Instead of managing symptoms ... it’s taking it back to the neurological level and trying to make a connection there.
“It’s one of our best shots in making a lifelong difference for kids.”
