Balash Students Gather Wabash Trash
The amount of trash pulled from the Wabash each year by Bluffton-Harrison Middle School students has declined over the years, but not been reduced to zero.
This fact led students in Bev Balash's class to launch an awareness campaign, an Earth Day poster campaign at local businesses and a Spring clean-up day on April, 25. That day five classes pulled 250 pounds of trash from the Wabash.
This week they received a Staples Earth Force Award worth $500 in eco-friendly products for the school.
