Education officials discuss graduation waivers

Students who graduate from high school without meeting every requirement might need to further prove they are ready to leave, Bluffton High School Principal Steve Baker said Wednesday.

In anticipation of the 2013 General Assembly, officials with the Indiana Department of Education want to eliminate possible abuse of graduation waivers — passes given to students who pass their classes but do not pass end-of-course assessments, or ECAs.
