Bluffton-Harrison school board members unanimously approved a Family Medical Leave Act for Superintendent Wayne Barker through June 26, after Barker’s wife, Ingrid, was diagnosed with an apparent brain tumor.
Barker has kept the community informed through his Facebook post, and his friends have started using the phrase "pray ING," derived from the first three letters of his wife's name, to encourage him. Even Ingrid and daughter Taylor have purchased bands with the word.
