Family Literacy night at LCES
By JERRY BATTISTE
Long after being dismissed from school Thursday, students came streaming back into Lancaster Central Elementary School, families in tow.
It was all part of the annual Family Literacy Night event. More than 100 parents and students came back to the school between 6 and 8 p.m. to learn a little about literacy and have fun doing it.
The theme for the evening was food related, with every station reflecting a course: beverage, appetizer, soup and salad, entree and dessert.
Students who brought their families back to the school enjoyed a free book, snacks and several learning filled events. Free baby-sitting was provided for those with small children.
