SWES supports our troops

Students in the third grade at Southern Wells Elementary recently completed a project of writing letters to service men and women serving in Iraq. One of the students, Jay Garrett, had a special interest in the project because his dad, Brent Garrett, is serving with a group. Brent Garrett is the service man who has been sharing some of his experiences in Iraq through a column in the Bluffton News Banner each month. The students also collected items for the soldiers to enjoy while they are away from home. Garrett’s group is anticipating returning to the United States in January.
