NHS renovation still under consideration

The Steering Committee tasked with guiding the school's potential renovation of Norwell High School has managed to get the price tag down to a tad under $14 million.
Still little headway has been made in terms of what, if any, project might be feasible; some folks say no increase in property taxes, however slight, will be tolerated.
Others say the community would be foolish not to strike while the iron is hot and construction costs are historically low.

For now buckets will continue to be used to catch the leaks when it rains.

People of the Norwell Community, I'm wondering WHY? Why do you- time after time after time let Art Windmiller hold you hostage? You could have had a building built already by now.
Do you just not want to attract new people to your district? Do you not understand the longer you wait the more expensive it will get?
Do you not want your community's children to have decent facilities or up to date technology so that they can compete in a global market, when they graduate?

Come on, the days of joining Dad on the farm or at the local factory are over! The more ecomomically depressed the country becomes, the more you want your children have global options available to them. That starts with a good education.

Even if you don't have or care about the children in your district, have your ever thought you are going to wind up paying for that grown-up child that doesn't wind up "anywhere" through social service costs? Yes, your taxes are high, but hey they are going to be higher to fund healthcare, unemployment, and crime in the future if you don't assume a spirit of community support now.
