Wednesday was not the best day to be working outside, but the rain did little to stop the Southern Wells fifth-graders who spent their day landscaping the school grounds.
Southern Wells Environment Day has been an annual event for the last dozen years.
Each spring the fifth grade class — this year there were just 48 students - gather outside for a full day of weeding, mulching, planting and general cleaning of the area.
