News-Banner reporter Frank Shanly became a U.S. Citizen this morning following a swearing-in ceremony in Fort Wayne.
Shanly, born in New Zealand, emigrated to the U.S. about six years ago and has been working toward full citizenship ever since.
Shanly said he left New Zealand because he couldn't stand the dirty orcs and goblins that rampaged the countryside and "the Hobbits next door were always having such loud parties. I couldn't get any rest."
This morning at 8 a.m. Mayor Ted Ellis visited the News-Banner to proclaim January 8, 2010 Frank Shanly Day in Bluffton, Indiana.
Congratulations to Frank Shanly. Welcome to America!
