Lowe's Offers BFD a Helping Hand

David Wilson, manager of Lowe's of Bluffton, handed over a case of smoke detectors and a pile of lumber to the Bluffton Fire Department this week.
The smoke detectors will be installed free of charge by firefighters or Lowe's volunteers for residents in need. The lumber will be used for trench rescue.
The company has provided community donations in the past, but this year they added the BFD to the Lowe's Heroes Program.
Fire Chief Bob Plummer said businesses like Lowe's play a vital role in the health of the community and it was important not to overlook their contributions.
"They have done some things for us in the past, but this is the first time they made us a part of their Heroes program," he said.

As the economy tightens it is good to see a company like Lowe's of Bluffton continuing and growing their community outreach programs.
