I spent a couple hours yesterday helping judge the Optimist Club Oratorical Contest. The nine students who participated, four boys and five girls, each did an outstanding job of speaking about what Optimism meant to them. From personal stories of triumph to ideas to foster optimistic inspiration in others, each of the kids had something worth while to say. And I was glad I had a chance to listen.
I want to thank the Optimists for allowing me to participate and congratulate all the students. Everyone performed admirably.
