Steffen earns NHS ICE honors
Senior Trevor Steffen has been selected as Norwell High School’s ICE (Interdisciplinary Cooperative Education) Student of the Week for the week of March 9, 2009.
Trevor’s place of employment in conjunction with the ICE Program is McDonalds in Bluffton where he has duties that range from customer service to general cleaning. His supervisor is Zina Daskam.
Trevor is the son of Todd Steffen of Vera Cruz and Teresa Steffen-Pulfer of Lima, Ohio. Following graduation he plans to study business management at IPFW.
"Trevor has been a consistent and dependable student in the ICE Program this school year,” said Norwell ICE Coordinator Ron Harnish. He has proven to be a solid worker in the classroom as well as at the work site. When I visit Trevor at work, the customer is his top priority. He always has a smile on his face, and he has a good rapport with his co-workers. Trevor has the knowledge to perform many jobs at McDonalds, which means he is a very valued employee. I wish Trevor well in any career he chooses."
The ICE program allows students to be released early each school day to work at jobs that could develop into future careers. Students learn skills, attain credits, and earn wages. Each student is also involved in a related-learning class, which is taught by Mr. Harnish.
